midnight cherry double vision

Hey guys called my dealer to get the vin# he uncrated 2 new 09's and said the colors are different. One is darker then the other. The only explanation he had was that the one was built in the final phase and could be the 2010 XR/XC color.. I mentioned to the dealer that the Xr xc COLOR IS TITLED THE SAME MIDNIGHT CHERRY. Well looks like i have a choice of 2 reds. Any ideas?

Go with the darkest of the 2 colors.....their Midnight Cherry is not "Midnight" enough for me. 
QUALITY over speed. Doing a crappy job fast is worthless, so take pride in your work as so few do these days. If you want to lose respect, then act like your work doesn't matter.

Get the one with the "Newest" color It might be more rare down the road. Just an idea.

Look at them both and get the one you like best. I perfer darker

Thanks Guys. I def have a big decision to make. My concern is ordering the street panel. how is that going to match? Also wondering how they screwed the color up

I would go with the more popular (whichever is the closest to the correct).  If for any reason you needed  panels, paint... The confusion that would go with the headache could cause mental breakdowns and regret later with trying to explain how the color is actually "blah-blah" even though it's a "blah-bah".

 

Either way I bet one is faster for sure though!!!

If it is different from year to year is should have a different paint code. Which should not affect value. But I prefer the darker CHERRY!

have the dealer buy the rear panel to match the darker one.  If it matches, buy it.  If it matches the lighter bike, buy that one.

I'd go with the darker one....be like a double struck coin and be worth more coinage in the re-sale market.  They didn't change much between the years or so I think (although my boss use to tell me a good thought would bust my head wide open)...just remember to buy 2010 painted parts...
