I have a 260 on my 2008 hammer, they are basically the same size as the 250. No problems at all. If you go to a 280 or 300 then the rim is too narrow and will cause the tire to squeeze and you will gain height not width, and damage the tire.

That seems to be a popular replacement.   Let us know down the road.  That's the tire I think I'll get for my JP.

I have the 3rd 260 metz on my Hammer I wont go back to the Dunlop. You can fit a 280 but its not recomended for that small of a rear wheel. But hey who really cares whats recomended ....right.

I don't know about that size tire, however after running the Avon Venom, I'll never use anything other than the Metzler!!!!

I ran AVONS on my Buell and loved them. I went with the Metz on this bike for no real reason other than to try it.

What difference is there in the two that you can tell?

I need a new back tire and I'm thinking of going with the stock tire. Whats the main difference other than size for the METZ 260, does it handle a lot better?
