Hi Gang,

I am brand new here and just wanted to chime in that I just bought my first Victory bike.  It is a black 2008 Vegas Jackpot.  I have not even picked it up yet from the shop.  I get it this afternoon.  I am very excited about it.

Off topic, is this the best place to be chatting about out bikes?  It seems rather...quiet.

Good Luck with your new bike. I have been a Victory owner for 3 years and really enjoy the bikes (Kingpin and Vision).

Ride Safe.... Gary

Welcome to the Family! Let us know how it goes. We all like to hear about all the aspects of purchase from the dealer experience to your thoughts on your new bike.

So, I had the pleasure of riding my new Jackpot all weekend.  It has been excellent.  I had not ridden for 2 years and was a bit nervous taking on such a big, powerful bike, but it was really easy to ride.

I bought it from Sea to Sky Motorsports in Langley, BC.  They were excellent to deal with.  Very friendly and helpful.  I had been to the new huge Harley Davidson store across the street and no one would help me.  As I walked out of there, I told them that I could have spent $30,000 but since no one helped me I left.  Very frustrating.  However, it led me to Victory and one hell of a nice ride!

Here is a not-so-good picture of it:

You will love it. It looks awesome!  I have been riding a Victory Kingpin for about 2 years and it is the most fun I have had except...never mind!

Enjoy the ride and welcome to the Victory community.

So far, the ride has been great.  I only have 2 questions:

1. Is it typical that finding Neutral is difficult on the Vegas?  I read elsewhere that it is.

2. I get a backfire shifting out of 1st and 2nd fairly often.  Startled me the first few times.  Not sure if that is normal or if I should take it in to the dealer to look at.

1. Is it typical that finding Neutral is difficult on the Vegas?  I read elsewhere that it is.----I usually dont have any problems finding neutral, I guess I havent heard of this issue?  Might just be part of the break-in process.

2. I get a backfire shifting out of 1st and 2nd fairly often.  Startled me the first few times.  Not sure if that is normal or if I should take it in to the dealer to look at----I woulnt worry about it too much, looks like you have a set of Ness pipes or similar on the bike....I am assuming they are similar to mine (Santa-Rosa's) in that they are fairly loud.  Remember those types of pipes have very little baffling in them which makes every minor backfire that most bikes have seem very loud.  The only thing I can suggest, make sure the dealer re-programmed the computer for the fuel injection if the exhaust was changed out at the dealership.  If the bike came with those pipes from the factory, it should have been done.  Sometimes dealers will forget that if you mess with the exhaust, you have to recalibrate the fuel system.

My 8-ball is the second Vic that I have owned.  Got over 7000 miles on it in 1 calendar year !

Sweet ride!

I'm waiting on a call from my not-so-local Victory dealer to see if he can scrounge up a Lucky Green Jackpot for me.  Hope to hear from him soon (come on man, hurry up!).

Same thing happened to me at the Harley dealership.  I guess they expect you to beg them to sell you a bike...

Faithful Polaris rider since 1991: '91 Indy Sport GT, '92 440 SKS, '94 XLT SKS, '95 XCR600, '95 Indy 500 (for the wife), '97 XCR 600, '97 700 RMK, '05 Sportsman 500.  Currently in the garage: '05 Predator TLE.  Hoping to have a 2009 Vegas Jackpot soon.

I just bought the same bike at the end of september had to park it due to the snow only have 400 km on it.

I also have the same pipes with the same backfire, it must be normal.

I plan on coming down to Sea to Sky Motorsports in Langley in the spring to get a kewl metal front rake kit installed.

Yes, it has been tough waiting for Spring and it is only January!  I got a really nice cover for my Jackpot and it is safely tucked away until the sun comes out again.

I am hoping to get new grips and pegs and then also get the integrated LED turn signals (front & rear) before spring.

Sea to Sky Motorsports have been just great.  Highly recommended!

You should ride back the the HD dealer on your Jackpot and shake their hand and thank them.  They did you a favor.

When we do demo rides from our local victory dealership....we tend to ride a line of victory's thru the local HD parking lot. You should see the look on the sales guys faces along with the look of confusion on the potential HD customers.
