Here is a short history of my 2006 Hammer. I decided to buy it after my buddy and myself had ridden 300+ miles one day on our sport bikes, me on my Buell him on his Busa. We had severe monkey butt and wandered into a Victory dealer to take a break and check out these bikes we had been hearing about. The rest is history.
It started out a Nuclear Sunset Hammer with chrome package and Billet wheels. I think a nice canvas to start with. I rewired the bars and installed Chrome Billet controls with an internal throtle cable and relocated the horn and kill switch under the tank.

I have made a few more modifications at this point. I made my own radiused billet licence mount and LED taillight and even squeezed a extra brakelight in the center of it. I also sent out my brake calipers and mounting to be smoothed and chromed.
Then I went to Eureka Springs Arkansas for a regional VMC meet. While at dinner someone busts in to say that two of these Victorys fell over. (Yeah Right) he was Right and one was mine. My friends air ride had bled down and we were on a slight grade. His bike was on top of mine.
Time for new paint so the paint was stripped off and a silver base was applied and then three coats of Candy Tangerine went on after a light sand the Gold Flames were dusted over that, then another four coats of clear.
While doing this I added some Ness engine badges and an open final belt drive cover, of course with flames. I decided after looking for a set of forward controls, that none of the ones made to fit a Vic fit my taste or my budget. I decided that there had to be a way to put a set of controls designed for a Harley on a Victory. I bought these controls and designed a set of adapters and linkage that turned out to work quite well.
I have added a 2 into 1 Ness exhaust system, a new airbox , a Lloyds VFC II, Stage III cams and an 05 Hammer download.
I take a lot of pride in the fact that I have done all the work on my bike myself (with the exception of the paint) done by a friend of mines brother. I think my hand and foot controls conversions are my favorite because they are the most unique parts.
Presently this is how it looks. I do have a touring seat and a removable backrest that I made and it has been used for overnite trips with my wife and a big ole duffle bag bungeed on the rack. I am on my 3rd rear tire and 2nd front I have close to 12000 miles on it so she aint no garage queen Vics like to be riden. Im currently working on a new set of handle bars and a billet oil cooler both will go on this winter. Unfotunateley here in St, Louis we have WINTER and sometimes are not able to ride for several weeks at a time. It does however give me time for things that I have to tear apart for extended periods.
Thanks for reading about my Hammer now its your turn lets hear about your VIC!
