The photos on this site came directly from Victory and it's my understanding they were from a one-off prototype of the bike. We'll know in the next week or so exactly what the production plate looks like as well as the rest of the features of the production models. I should be able to get some photos up within the next week or so.
I currently ride a Victory Vision, but have owned a Harley Road King, Harley Softtail Special, Honda Goldwing, Yamaha YZF 600, Honda Shadow, Honda Helix, Yamaha Scooter, Honda CX-500, Honda 50 and a Moped!

Lucky   :P

I would be willing to bet the production model has the black ones though.  I have never noticed this until you mentioned it though.  It may be a duribility issue.  Looking at both it appears the chrome one would have a higher probability of wearing, wereas the black one looks like the lettering is under a layer of something.

To my understanding 50 Visions were allocated to the first 50 people that had their names faxed in. The next 50 Visions went to actual dealerships that had their names faxed in. I was the next one on the list at the dealership and got mine that way. I was at the dealership today and was told mine should be arriving towards the 3rd to 4th week of the month. I wish they would send out the vins so I can finish the bank stuff. I don't want anything to go wrong and miss out on this rare opportunity to own a piece of Victory/motorcycle history. This is sooooo exciting! Does anyone know what the VIP pkg is? I hope its matching helmets with badging, anniversary cover and stuff like that. I do know about the Daytona bike week too but what does that entail. I'm going for sure! Whoever has a regular Vision would you mind telling me what you wish you had on yours that you didn't get or haven't gotten yet? I know I'm gonna go with the S1/L2 exhaust and highway pegs at least. Ok, now I'm rambling but I can't help it.

Sounds like you got yours from a dealership that received two anniversary bikes.  What area are you in?  I think only 7 dealerships got two.  One for the fax and one for the dealer.  Reason I ask, my dealer was one of those 7 and you may be in the same area as me.

This leads me to ask everyone.  In what city/state will the anniversary editions be calling home?

I live in the great Northwest in Washington. Based on your profile you live in the Dakotas, right? Hey, I know it would be a bit of a logistical nightmare but wouldn't be just a kick to have everyone that's going to Daytona bike week meet up in different places as groups and everyone converge on the area at once. This would be an awesome display for Victory I would think. Where would we start on something like that. I guess since me and one other person would be coming from WA we'd have to start first, eh. Maybe Andy would have some inputs on this. Just throwin it out there but sure sounds like a great idea to me! Might have to start a different thread to get this one going cuz it'll take a lot of inputs.

Got my 10th Anniversary Vision #020 9-26-08.  The 87 Goldwing has been put out to pasture. I also have a Honda 750 Aero, ATK 605 and have owned a 68 BSA 650 Lightning, Maico 400, Honda SL 70, Suzuki TM 125, a mini bike and a unicycle.

That would be a goosebump moment seeing dozens of anniversary bikes rolling across country and into Daytona all at once.

I would love to be a part of that.

Well guys ... it has arrived!

Got the call at 10:00 am: the delivery truck was outside the dealership waiting to unload my new baby.

Had the dealer actually go out to his shop and not only confirm that it is actually a 10th Anniversary, but that it was my VIN (1584) and what the badge # (86) was. I have pics coming in from the dealer as I post this.

Unfortunately, my dealer has NO MECHANICS on duty today, so prep/set-up will have to wait until tomorrow AM.

I also started a 10th Anniversary Registry per 'af goalie's suggestion in the Vision forum.

Don't know if I can wait till tomorrow to see her - I may just have to just take a LOOOONG Lunch and say hello to my new ride.

Any updates on the VIP package and what it includes?  Post any information you get on that portion of the deal when you find out about it.

Well, the dealer said mine will be shipped on the 18th. I'm expecting it to arrive sometime early next week. Takes a little while to get out to Washington. As soon as the dealer gets the invoice he said he'd be calling with the vin and badge number. Hopefully he'll send pictures that I can post. BTW how do you get the pictures down to 500 x 500 for the site? Haven't quite figured that one out yet. Andy, any word on the S1/L2 software flash? I'll be getting those pipes as soon as the software issue gets straightened out! Thanks to Andy for the video and Drew for the pics. What a beautiful bike!

I hope my delivery date hasn't slipped.  I scheduled myself for the last MSF experience rider class of the year.  Figured it would be a good controlled setting to get to know the new bike.  Sept 26 is my class date, hope to have it by then.  Love to have it today though, but I am sure I am not the only one.

Sep 20 2008, 10:22 am - Replied by: Andy

Taking the class is a great step when you get a new bike. When I picked up my 08 Vision, I took the class to get to know the characteristics of the bike. It was well worth the time and the money. Just becoming familiar with the slow speed characteristics and the ability of the linked braking system was worth the price of admission.

FYI, the ads you see on this site for the MSF were donated to this non-profit organization. I guess that shows that I am truly a fan of the services they provide to riders of all brands of bikes.

What's this MSF class you're all talking about? Never heard of it? Is it through the dealership or some other organization?

The MSF is the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. It's a non profit organization funded by many of the motorcycle manufacturers...not all, but most of them. They organize rider classes around the country and have classes ranging from those for the first time rider and even provide small bikes to learn to ride up to the Experienced Rider Classes.

I'm in the habit of taking a class every couple or years or whenever I get a new bike. It's amazing how many bad habits even seasoned riders pick up over the years.

After taking the class, you'll most likely be eligible to receive a discount on your insurance. You'll need to check with your Insurance Agent about the discount.

Here's a link: http://www.msf-usa.org/

Also, from personal experience, not all the classes/teachers are created equally. Talk to the folks at the dealership and other riders in your area to get recommendations.

No, I had to call and add the XM to my current account and start paying for it.

My dealer was the rumor starter.  He said he wasn't sure but I was holding out hope.

It should be that way. When you buy a car that has XM radio, it is free for the first year. I assumed it was and tried to listen and could not, I asked the dealer and I was told that I would have to activate it.

If anyone finds out different let me know.

Andy,

Thanks for the MSF info. I took a class a long time ago but probly wouldn't be a bad idea to do it again. My wife wants to take the beginner class.

I picked up my 10th anniversary today. Even more awesome in person than I could have ever imagined it would be. Those of you that havent received yours yet are lucky you don't know what you're missing time would only drag on slower until you got yours. I bought mine in sioux city iowa and while I was there the head of production at the plant was there getting his oil changed. I had a nice conversation with him and he said they have been scattering the 10th anniversary in with other bikes being made and not doing them all at once. He told me that #100 started its way down the line on Friday morning so for those that haven't gotten theirs yet your day is getting closer. As far as the complaints about the gps not looking quite right on the bike it doesn't look up to the standards they have set for the rest of the bike but it doesn't look terrible. My biggest dissapointment was the sound system. the sound quality is horrid. I think I will definitely be looking for a way to upgrade it with better speakers and an amp. Otherwise the bike surpassed all expectations.

Sorry about this my wife wanted to know what I was writing and when I told her she said I had missinformed you. It wasn't #100 that was started on Friday it was #96. #'s 97, 98, 99, and 100 were the first ones produced and they were kept for marketing. I was so excited about looking at my new bike my ears were temporarily unavailable.

I haven't seen it yet but I am betting I can get over the color.

What input where you listening with?  I-Pod, XM radio, AM/FM?  I heard the overall sound quality was improved this year but I don't think they addressed the radio reception issues.

Finally, what number did you get?  Congrats also.
