Drew, you know me well. I just went out to the bike and plugged in the iPhone. I usually just keep a 2nd generation iPod in the glove box and never have to worry about it.

Please note, that I don't have the latest Victory iPod flash on my bike, so my results could be a bit outdated, but here goes:

As I suspected, the iPhone did NOT charge on my Vision. This has been a common issue with the iPhone not being backwards-compatible with some of the older iPod speaker systems. If you tried connected a iPhone to a non-compatible speaker system, soon as you connect it, a warning screen pops up on the phone that states that it's not compatible and throws it into "airplane mode." This turns off the phone portion of the iPhone and keeps the GSM buzz from affecting the speakers and creating that "helicopter" sound everytime it checked for email. Also, the music playback was a bit flaky and was showing the same symptoms that others were reporting when connecting the newer 3rd generation iPod...the controls weren't working properly.

I don't know if the most recent reflashing for the Vision will correct this situation for the iPhone in the same manner I heard it corrected the "freeze up" problems for the newer iPods. So, all I can confirm is that it's not charging my iPhone in its current setup.

But, when you think about it, using an iPhone on a Vision doesn't make a lot of sense as even if it was charging and working properly, if the phone rings, how are you supposed to answer it if it's in the glove box?

My solution is to keep the iPhone in a jacket pocket or in the side bag and use a Bluetooth helmet headset if I need to answer a call. I use an iPod Nano solely for the music.

Now, if I could only figure out how to "merge" the iPhone into the CB wiring so that I can use the same headset for the CB and the phone.

Any suggestions?

I currently ride a Victory Vision, but have owned a Harley Road King, Harley Softtail Special, Honda Goldwing, Yamaha YZF 600, Honda Shadow, Honda Helix, Yamaha Scooter, Honda CX-500, Honda 50 and a Moped!

Thank You Drew and Andy for all the information. I will probably just use the XM for music and keep the iPhone in my jacket pocket if they don't make it work without having to go into airplane mode. Due to my job, I have to be able to hear my phone ring no matter where I am or what I am doing.

The new owner of my Vulcan drove all the way from Idaho to New Mexico yesterday, he got to my house at 10:00 last night and I went over everything with him and loaded it in his trailer. I am sure gonna miss that motorcycle, especially until my Vision comes in.

I just can't wait, My dealer is 285 mils away so I don't get to look at them in person, but I have been researching everything I can on the Internet every chance i get.

Thanks again for the information.

Just got the word yesterday.  Sept 16 ship date for my Vision.

Congrats.

Mine is being built now (well, not right now, at 11 PM EST ... but today or tomorrow), and is scheduled to ship this Friday, September 5th.

Dealer told me that the shipper has 3 days to pick up the bike, and it only takes 3-4 days to truck it from Spirit Lake, Iowa, dropping off other bikes on the way, to South Florida (I bet a little coffee is involved during that road-trip).

Christmas is coming a little early to this South Florida boy :)

Regards,

Drew.

Has anyone that is receiving a 10th Anniversary Vision received it yet? When you start receiving them let everyone know what number you received.

Great idea! Mine is due to be out the factory door on 9/19 and I expect to meet her the following week. I'm hoping they have solved the S1 L1 issue by then as I truly enjoy the sound and response it delivers.

1st person to receive theirs start a new topic labled "10th Anniversary Vision Registry" or something similar.  Input the area your from, dealer you purchased through and the ## of your Vision.  If you like also mention any add ons you have got as well.

Mine ships on 9/19...but the dealer will be using it for an Open House on 10/3. So, I'm not sure when I'll be getting it. Unlike Drew, I'm not doing much riding during the hot weather South Florida months. So Drew, you'll be starting the thread before me!

Alright here we go:

While I don't think it's right to give up my contact's name at Victory, here is the scoop on 10th Anniversary Visions as I got it via email last night:

"As with all new Polaris/Victory models, engineering will hold units for a period of time after initial production to ensure all quality checks have been completed.  These models were released to us for shipping yesterday afternoon with a clean quality check".

Soooooooooo, although my order still has an 'official' ship-date of 9/5 (explain that one to me), my source at Victory told me in another email that "The bike is routed now and will ship later this week.  It is scheduled to be delivered to Victory of South Florida on Monday (9/15)."

I just found out today that mine is scheduled to ship tomorrow (9/11) so a Monday arrival is a possibility for me also.

My dealer told me mine should be here 9/15,  I'm not going to hold my breath.  I did the custom order program in 05 with my Hammer.  It arrived a month later than I was told.   It was worth the wait!!   I hope the Vision make it closer to on time!

Now I just have to wait for a VIN number so I can finish the bank stuff.

Good luck hope yours is here soon!

To my understanding 50 Visions were allocated to the first 50 people that had their names faxed in. The next 50 Visions went to actual dealerships that had their names faxed in. I was the next one on the list at the dealership and got mine that way. I was at the dealership today and was told mine should be arriving towards the 3rd to 4th week of the month. I wish they would send out the vins so I can finish the bank stuff. I don't want anything to go wrong and miss out on this rare opportunity to own a piece of Victory/motorcycle history. This is sooooo exciting! Does anyone know what the VIP pkg is? I hope its matching helmets with badging, anniversary cover and stuff like that. I do know about the Daytona bike week too but what does that entail. I'm going for sure! Whoever has a regular Vision would you mind telling me what you wish you had on yours that you didn't get or haven't gotten yet? I know I'm gonna go with the S1/L2 exhaust and highway pegs at least. Ok, now I'm rambling but I can't help it.

Got my 10th Anniversary Vision #020 9-26-08.  The 87 Goldwing has been put out to pasture. I also have a Honda 750 Aero, ATK 605 and have owned a 68 BSA 650 Lightning, Maico 400, Honda SL 70, Suzuki TM 125, a mini bike and a unicycle.

Sounds like you got yours from a dealership that received two anniversary bikes.  What area are you in?  I think only 7 dealerships got two.  One for the fax and one for the dealer.  Reason I ask, my dealer was one of those 7 and you may be in the same area as me.

This leads me to ask everyone.  In what city/state will the anniversary editions be calling home?

Well bad news came my way today when I called my shop to see if the bike shipped on time and if they had an arrival date yet. The answer was that it did not ship and they are now told it won't ship for some time and the best I can hope for is towards the end of the month. I really wish they would have told me this to begin with as I was really getting the itch bad thinking it may be here early next week. So odie was correct and the ship dates can't be trusted till you have actual movement shown on shipping invoice. Oh well good thing I still have the KP to ride and enjoy!

I feel your pain brother - it happened to me as well.

I almost feel guilty in saying this, but I got a call from my dealer today and was told that my bike is on the truck and now in Nashville (on its way to Florida). My dealer also gave me the VIN #, but is unable to ascertain the 'badge #' until the bike arrives.

While I am excited, I am still going to try and keep my expectation level at dull-roar until I can put my hands on it.

Any chance that the last two numbers would corespond with the Limited Edition number? or possibly not?

I stopped at my dealership in sioux city iowa yesterday to look at a new vision and was asking the dealer if he had seen the 10th anniversary and he said that he was one of the lucky dealers that had been able to get one. It shipped on friday and he hadn't tried to sell it yet because he wanted to make sure it was coming before he tried. so as luck would have it i am now the proud owner of a 10th anniversary. he said it should arrive sometime early next week.  Can someone tell me what accesories exactly are supposed to be included and what the vip package includes. I want to make sure I receive everything when the bike comes. This bike will call Fort Dodge Iowa home.

Congrats Jason.

Check out the video in this thread.  It has a good amount of info on the anniversary bike.  Also Victorys own site has the anniversary model highlighted with a list of all the added options.

I have been researching and studying on the internet since my dealer is 280+ miles away and I can't wait to get my vision. I have noticed something interesting.

Looking at photos of the vision in the gallery section of this site there are photos directly off of the Victory web site that show the linited edition number plate as a chrome plate with raised letters showing #080. Then There is another photo that was taken at a Victory 10th Anniversary event that shows the number plate as a black plate with silver letters showing #083.

Just looking at the pictures it would appear that the nicer looking chrome plate was that is on their website is a pre production and the actual number plates are the black plates. I don't like the black plates as much.
