WEll first off, I think I introduced myself awhile back but maybe not here.

So.....Hi my name is Salty and I am a bikeaholic! LOL. Yes it's tru, I sold off both my sweet HD's and now have a a sweet 09 Tour premium in the hanger! We live in Cold Lake Alberta, home of Canada's premier CF18 Hornet Fighters! I am a retired military guy(year 11 now) but still work on the Wing for Raytheon Canada. So, still attatched to the military life in many ways. Like WEAZ here I am a member of CAV and also Veterans UN NATO Canada and I also am a member of the Red Knights MC.

I had a deposit on a new Cross Country but it was too much like my 06 STreet Glide in function so.............

Been riding pull start minibikes and up since about age 7 or so. Took a ride on Rocketmans bike last Sept and he was lucky to get it back. LOL Enjoyed the ride and power immensely but still thinks it has a look that you either love, hate or acquire. It took me a couple of years to acquire it.

Purchased the vision in Kamloops BC, home of the infamous Dangerous Dave! I met Dave back in 03 during our LC Suzuki faze of bikes, just like Rocket Man rode also.

Dave was really helpfull by checking out this Western Canada Rep's demo for me, letting me know the in's and outs and really helped me make the move... and then I sealed the deal! All the grey plastic bits and the windshield pan have been powder coated black anbd I have added more with tinted shield, blakced out rear tip overs, upper and lower black powder coated vents etc.....more to follow. I have not even ridden this bike yet! LOL Trunk is off and stored. It also came with a backrest and luggage rack and allready installed S1L1, so thats great.

So I hope to enjoy a lot of miles with this girl...with a new house to now pay for at my age...it should be my last bike for a good long while!

GO CANADA GO!

oh and the referral program is great just got my chiny 500$ cheque in the mail yesterday

OOOH so close to a VOG meet up, yet so far.   Too bad you have to miss the June Vetran's event.

Pictures of the trailer can be seen in my gallery.  It's a Gypsy,  Scarob trailer, made near Ottawa.

Interesting point - The day I picked mine up there was a Vet picking his up too.  I'm sure he said his name was Salty.  He was retired (obviously), something like 35 years in the Navy and told me he had something to do with repatriating servicemen/women returning home.  He was riding a blue Nomad.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about the trailer.  You can also check them out at  http://www.gypsttrailers.com/

Warm welcome to our Canadian neighbors to the north!

Salty, I'm ex-Navy too.. was in HSL Anti-Submarine Helicopter squadron detached out of San Diego... hey, they almost sent me to Cuba, so I was a lucky girl!

Take care, ride safe and see you all on the boards.

Maybe Victory will do an owners ride at their Minnesota plant and we can have a shindig get together... did I just use the word "shindig"??  OMG!

So I was talking with my dealer a few days ago (Cycle Works Edmonton) and was informed that they have my VIN # and the bike (X-roads) will be here by the end of March.  With the long range weather looking nice I might be able to ride it home.  I'll post pictures of the black beauty when I get her.  Already planned for customization is heated grips, driver back rest, and some graphix.  I'll remove the vinyl and paint the tins this coming winter.

Ride safe everyone and keep it sunny side up.

I joined the Vog last year, but have not really been here till today. I purchased a Vision last August. I originally went in to buy a Victory Kingpin.. I drove 4600 Kilometers in my first 10 days...  :)

I have not driven in 20 years, but kept my license knowing one day I would be back.

I live in the Northwest Territories in Yellowknife. I do not think I will spend the rubber to ride it here, so I leave it in Edmonton or Kelowna where I have family with bike friendly lodgings...

This is a pic from August/09, 4 days after I got the bike. I was leaving the Okanagan Valley to drive through the Rockies to Calgary, AB then Edmonton.

I took the bike back to Kelowna last weekend, the heat was appreciated. I am heading to Vancouver Island in April to pickup a custom built trailer and return. In June my 17 YO daughter and I are taking a trip to San Diego down the coastal roads from BC. It will be her first trip. I hope she likes it as much as Dad.

My longest day so far on the bike is 8.5 hours. It sure is comfortable and fun to ride.  I have made so many interesting people because of this bike..

Cheers...

The bike is beautiful whinchey!  You look perfectly suited to it too.  I ride a Kingpin, but I think you made the right choice on that Vision.

You're going to have a great time on your big road trip.  I lived in Oregon on the Coast, so I know those roads in WA, OR and Northern California very well.  Don't forget to take Hwy 101 through Oregon and stop in Tillamook at the Cheese Factory and Mo's Chowder House in Lincoln City!  Oh yeah, then the Redwood Forest in Northern California and the mystery house in Eureka!  Gorgeous!  Take rain gear.. lol.  Doesn't matter what time of year it is, Oregon gets wet!

Hello all from the home of Sid the Kid, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. I picked up my Cross Roads 1 1/2 months ago and have approx. 3000 km's on her already. Absolutely loving the bike!! I'm coming off a Suzuki 800 and was a little concerned about the size difference, but the Victory is considerbly easier to ride. The Suzuki was top heavy and poorly balanced, although I was used to it. Anyway, Big game tonight, my Habs against the home town hero and Pittsburg Penguins. I'm a Habs fan through and through, but I'll hope for the Pens if they beat Montreal tonight. I'll have all my lucky charms around the TV, so hopefully I won't see Sid until next season, unless he comes home this summer. Go Habs Go!!
